FFXIV PC RELEASE DATE ANNOUNCED  
 According to Gamespot, it looks like the PC version will be hitting retail stores on September 30, 2010!!!

There will be 2 editions: $50 regular version and a $75 collector's edition

The collector's edition will feature
- A behind-the-scenes documentary DVD
-Travel journal with concept art
- "Onion Helm" in-game item
- A fully personalized "rite of passage" certificate
- Special cover art
- FFXIV branded security token for use with regular password

Gamers with the collector's edition will also be able to play the game 8 days ahead of everyone else because of the early access codes included with the bundle.

No word yet on when the PS3 version releases :(

The subscription price is a bit high though, plus $3 for each additional character? WTF???

Rather than using additional characters for mules this time, you can have retainers, which cost $1, and you can use them to store items and even sell things for you while you're not logged in. They're pretty cool, you should look into them. The mule of the future. You won't need a second character with those.

...isn't that pretty much the same as the subscription price for 11? thought I was paying 12.95 a month, and this looks like 12.99?

I never played 11, I'm used to a MMORPG costing like $10 a month XD

ah, yea.. it's pretty much the same price as their old game.

though they make it so you can change jobs and crafts and what not on your one character, so it's not absolutely required to have a 2nd (and pay that 3 bucks)... the online 'store' NPC though sounds nifty. I make my ingame money buy selling crap that people use to make stuff.
